Vertical Aerospace Chooses Honeywell’s Fly-by-Wire System and Next-Gen Avionics for VA-X4 eVTOL.

Vertical Aerospace Chooses Honeywell’s Fly-by-Wire System and Next-Gen Avionics for VA-X4 eVTOL.

The VA-X4, Vertical Aerospace’s flagship electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, will feature Honeywell’s fly-by-wire controls and next-gen avionics, the two companies have announced. These flight deck technologies automate aircraft controls, reducing pilot workload while enhancing flight safety.

The agreement builds upon two years of collaboration between Honeywell and Vertical Aerospace as they continue to work together to develop disruptive aircraft technologies.

Honeywell's Compact Fly-by-Wire System is derived from the company's systems for airliners, but is only the size of a hardcover book. It provides smooth, reliable flight control. Our advanced avionics, meanwhile, will feature Simplified Vehicle Operations technology, lowering pilot workload.

In this video, Mike Madsen, president and CEO of Honeywell Aerospace, explains how Vertical Aerospace and Honeywell are great partners in shaping the future of flight.
